Currently working on a book titled "HOOD RULES" - started February 2011
NOTE: Hood Rules is re-inventing the word HOOD. Most people don't know that before the word HOOD was used to describe a ghetto it was short for the word NEIGHBORHOOD. So any Neighborhood can be a HOOD.

No plan will ever be 100% but you are your first line of self defense so you need to make sure that you are ready. As human beings most people don't worry about crime unless it is in our face. Rarely do we ever take preventative measures. I can honestly say that I am more cautious today about keeping myself safe because I have been a victim of criminalization.
Hood Rules examines better ways to see danger for what it really is and to never turn your cheek on natural instinct. It also discusses very clear ways we can become a target in public places by appearing unalert whether it be texting, talking on the phone or reading a book and never looking up to check our surroundings. Of course these are all simple pleasures that we enjoy in everyday life but you must understand just how deadly these simple pleasures can become. No matter where you are or what urban, suburban or rural neighborhood you are in someone is always watching.
Crime isn't always about gender or race as much as it is about opportunity. Being unalert is one of the most common mistakes we make everyday and at the end of the day no one is being blamed for being victimized and there will be some situations that are unavoidable. However, it is better to have a plan than no plan at all. Chapter by chapter Hood Rules breaks down various rules to follow in your daily routine and the importance of each rule. Every chapter begins with an introductory story of how that particular rule came about.
